Applications for Immigration Benefits

Immigration application receipts increased 21percent compared to the number received in May 2009. May 2010 approvals decreased by 13 percent, denials decreased by 40 percent, and pending decreased less than 36% compared to May 2009.

Major receipt volumes in May 2010 include: 114,627 I-765 employment authorizations; 59,142 I-130 immediate/all other petitions; 58,345 green card renewals/replacements; 50,222 I-485 applications to adjust status; 29,796 I-129 forms filed.
Major volumes of pending applications at the end of May 2010 include: 568,909 I-130 immediate/all other petitions; 395,222 I-485 applications to adjust status; 184,924 I-765 employment authorizations; 163,757 I-90 green card renewals/replacements; 61,361 I-129 forms filed; 58,845 I-751 remove conditions spouse jointly/waive. 

 

Naturalization Applications

Naturalization receipts in May 2010 increased 42 percent when compared to May 2009, while approvals/oaths increased by 1 percent and denials decreased 51 percent.
