Applications for Immigration Benefits
Immigration application receipts increased 82 percent compared to the number received in August 2009. August 2010 approvals increased by 24 percent, denials decreased by 30 percent, and pending decreased less than 16% compared to August 2009.

Major volumes of pending applications at the end of August 2010 include: 462,520 I-130 immediate/all other petitions; 377,033 I-485 applications to adjust status; 270,363 I-765 employment authorizations; 156,958 I-90 green card renewals/replacements; 119,572 I-821 temporary protected status; 80,902 I-129 forms filed; 71,067 I-131 travel document/advance.
 
Naturalization Applications
Naturalization receipts in August 2010 increased 12 percent when compared to August 2009, while approvals/oaths increased by 2 percent and denials decreased 29 percent.
